Jo

Jocasta Montana "Jo" Dallas is a 27 year-old bisexual gothic bartender who works nights at Magic City.  Jo is a member of MENSA and randomly sits for standardized exams just to find the mistakes, but does not allow her superlative smarts to go to her head.  She writes
Bianca Lawson as Jo Dallas
trashy romance novels under the pseudonym of Eden McIntyre.  Currently, she has six titles published:
In the Pink, The Coochie Coupon Clique, Downtown Games,
The Stiletto Six, One-Woman Wolfpack: Demon Moon and Midnight Magic.  Jo rides a motorcycle; a pink and black Ducati 696 Monster.

Jo has two master's degrees from UGA; one in nuclear physics and another in comparative literature.  She has a juris doctorate with a concentration in criminal justice and passed the Georgia Bar, but has no desire to practice law.  She is well-read, sleeps no more than four hours a day, and loves mixing drinks and coming up with new ideas for her menu.  She and Mitch, her bartender partner, have worked together for five years and are really good friends. However, Mitch wants to be more than that and Jo doesn't quite know how to handle it.

Jo is an only child and her mother died when she was very young, so she was raised by her father, a tough, no-nonsense cop.  As a result, she is a fan of forensics and criminal procedure, and has an academic fetish for serial killers and violent crimes. She likes watching
investigative programs such as Forensic Files and The New Detectives.  She is well-versed in self-defense and knows how to use a variety of weapons, courtesy of her father.  Jo is a daddy's girl through and through; she idolizes her father and always seeks his approval in whatever she does.

Jo's father, Joseph Dallas, is the Chief of Detectives for the Atlanta Police Department. Joseph adores his daughter; he thinks Jocasta is perfect and can do no wrong.  He puts no pressure on her and is always available to give her pep talk and advice.  Joseph is fond of Mitch and wouldn't mind him being involved with Jocasta, but it is knowledge that he keeps to himself.

Nathan "Mitch" Mitchell is 30 years old.  He's a bartender and a amateur photographer and filmmaker.  His photographic interests are varied; he likes taking pictures of what he considers to be "beautiful nouns."  Mitch likes making short films and documentaries, and is currently working on a series that explores the lives of the dancers who work in Atlanta's strip clubs.  He is a simple, confident man who is quietly in love with his bartending partner.
